Meet little Emma! She was found wandering as a stray and it appears she 
just had a little of puppies. We wonder how she could not be missing by her family, but we are happy to take her in, give her the love and care she needs and no more puppies! Her foster mom says she is very sweet and loving. She is considerate and kind around other dogs and cats. She is house trained and knows how to sit like a lady. She loves to sleep in your bed and will follow you everywhere. She likes to chew, so a few bully sticks or nylabones around would be great and also keeps her teeth clean. Meet Oscar! He comes to us from the shelter. After 5 long days, no one claimed this sweet boy so we were called to the rescue. We are very relieved he is in our care and not in the hands of the previous owners. He is full of scabs and scars from either having to fight for his life or from senseless abuse. What we do know is he is full of love and quite the big softie. This is sweet Daisy Jane. Her owner fell on hard times and could no longer care for her. A neighbor took her in, in order to avoid her going to a shelter and fostered her for a few weeks but could not find a suitable home so she contacted CCPR. Daisy Jane is quick to steal your heart. She is a loyal pug who follows you around like a second shadow. She gets along great with other dogs, but prefers human company. She is well mannered and housebroken. She stays close by when off leash and comes to you when called. We think she would do well in a family or with a single person, as long as someone is home with her often. She loves to snuggle, sleeps at the foot of the bed and loves to sleep in with her foster mom. She is very affectionate and loves a good cuddle.

They call me Pudgy, because I’m a full-figured gal. My foster mom calls me “Duchess”, as she thinks my rolls are quite beautiful and noble. I was given away because my humans said they had no time for me. This is quite confusing to my new foster family as I am no trouble at all and am a very easy going senior lady. I guess they didn’t love me anymore. I don’t like to go on long walks and don’t need a leash 
as I do not go very far or fast. I love to wander around for a spell or bask in the sun. Please stay close by as I dont see very well and can bump into things which can be awkward! I will need someone to take the time to help me learn my new surroundings. I do not have accidents in the house, as this is not befitting of a lady and with help, I will learn where to find the door! I get fine along with subordinates ( other dogs and cats too ) and I find children amusing. As I am in the prime of life, I would prefer a quieter home with someone who will love me in all my full figured glory! I would love to lay around like a couch potatoe with you, nothing formal! He is still working on mastering the art of being potty trained, but is coming along quite nicely. Petunia is a very obedient, comes when called and is eager to please. She is a spry, happy little girl.

Meet Tiggs! Its not his fault he was left at the shelter and his owners never claimed him, but we sure did! He did not cope well in the shelter at all and if you have ever visited the one in Bakersfield, it’s one of the most scarriest place for a pug!! He is now in loving foster care and getting all the extra reassurance he needs to know, he is worthy to be loved, adored and will never go back to that horrible place! He is learning new rules of living in a house and hasnt had an accident since the first week. but in time he will have that mastered, because he is eager to please! He is fine with other dogs, kids and cats and his foster mom says he is the most loving and grateful pug she has ever met. He is not overly active, very mellow and loves the company of his humans and other pugs! My name is Dewey. My new humans have named me after a famous longboard surfer from the 60′s, Dewey Webe
r. They tell me its because of my laid back attitude, unique and special style. I’m living in a home just a few steps from the beach. This is a long way from where I came from in the valley of Bakersfield where it can be miserably hot, so Im digging this new scene, for sure. I’m hoping my foster mom with take me to paddle out into the waves so I can learn to “hang eight” (dewclaws dont count I guess) Although, from what I hear surfing and pugs dont mix, so hanging on the beach would be awesome. scues were full but we were so grateful to our CCPR volunteers who made room for her and helped transport her and provide her a warm, loving home to stay in while she receives medical care for her skin conditions. Panda looks like a lil’ old, gray, pug-lady in her photos but its only because she was neglected. She is a young pug who just got off to a bad start in life. Now she is flea free, on quality food, receiving antibiotics and medication to help her fight the mites that have caused her hair to fall out. Each day Panda is getting healthier and she is so thankful to everyone that has donated to help her. Once her immune system is stronger, we will spay and vaccinate her.
