Surrender Information (805) 978-5888
Relinquishing a Pug is never easy. We understand that there may be many reasons why you cannot keep your Pug. Rest assured that we do not judge you and that our intention and reputation is based on finding your Pug a loving, forever home. When you relinquish your pug, we ask that you please be honest with us.
Owner Relinquishment/Surrender :
- A completed surrender form must be faxed, mailed, or emailed. Click here to download the Surrender Application.
- The dog must be a pure bred Pug. Email us a photo of your pug: kate@centralcoastpugrescue.com
- You must be the owner of the dog.
- When you relinquish your Pug, please be honest with us.
- All Pugs will immediately see our vet and be placed in an approved foster home prior to adoption. We take in all pugs regardless of age or medical condition. We spay/neuter all of our pugs ( if not already) before they become available for adoption. If surgery or dental is needed, this is also taken care of before the pug can be adopted into a new home.
- If necessary, we ask that you transport the pug to the agreed upon meeting place.
- Please bring the following: all vet records and/or the name, address, and phone number of your vet; the Pug’s bedding, food, and toys; a leash and collar.
- We cannot give you information about the adoptive parents and you cannot meet them. If they want to contact you, we can give them your information and leave it up to them.
- Once the pug has been checked out by our approved vet, the foster parent(s) take the pug home with them and evaluate him/her over a period of time to get to know the personality of the dog. When we place a pug, we do reference checks, home visits, and vet checks. Everything MUST be approved before a home is considered for a pug.
If you find a stray or know of a Pug that needs to be rescued, please call the CCPR hotline (805) 978-5888 as we do take in stray pugs. You may also reach our intake coordinator at Kate@CentralCoastPugRescue.com
A donation will help us care for your loved one and others who need a forever home!
